It is my opinion that the Democrat party has been infiltrated by the GOP. If the Democrat social media strategists are not Republicans, then they have to be the dumbest and unaware political cotrie ever created.
I hope there are enough Republicans to make this reality. Right now, it seems that GOP congressional leadership has abdicated their roles and conceded all power to Trump. Certainly, the erosion of Congress has been happening for some time, but it is reach8ng new lows. Imagine another Speaker allowing the president to dictate chairs of a key committee as Speaker Johnson did with the Intelligence Committee
Tom, while I have never been a fan of woke pronouns etc., I just accepted using them are proper manners. On the other hand, our Republicans in this state nominate people for important roles who are medical doctors who suggest not getting vaccinated, students are allowed to use kitty litters at school, or they are men who have a history of corruption and sexual abuse. Are these voters even in touch with reality?
That is a real basic problem.
Agree that Democratic leadership must focus with energy more on economic pain and how we can rectify it, but with an opposition party committed to lies, abuse, and confusion how can you really reach these people? That is the 84,000 dollar question.
I agree with the importance of protecting basic rights, but too often the Democrats confuse guaranteeing equal outcomes with assuring equal opportunities. And then they too often talk about issues with language that seems to mock common sense. “People who menstruate”????? Really?
Solid assessment. There is real opportunity to put things on a corrective path in the months ahead, but the opportunity will be missed if different strategies and tactics don’t begin to emerge soon. The lack of coherence and strategic thinking/planning — especially since the excesses of Trump and Project 2025 were well known in advance — is mind boggling. The old guard in the Democratic Party leadership has passed its sell by date. Reform or die, I suspect.

Yes to this and Congress has to step up in a bipartisan manner to wrest at least some of the law making- their responsibility!- back from Trump.

Spot on, Tom! SOMEONE reeds to be courageous right now. The GOP seems cowed and the Dems seem confused about what to do next!

And rally around Fetterman.
